I'll admit to having certain biases, being the huge music geek I am.
If *all* you like is rap and hip-hop, or pre-fabricated pop like Justin Beiber or Hannah Montana? We're not going to have ANYTHING to talk about, music-wise.
I once dated a girl who was amazed to find out Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings. That was a sharp learning curve.
I don't want someone with my exact taste in music either. Without some of my previous girlfriends, I never would have discovered a lot of bands I like now.
Yoko Ono is awesome. I'm getting over my impulse to seriously question the taste of anyone who doesn't like her, but I do question the values of anyone who vehemently hates her. It's a good litmus test: if someone's first reaction to Yoko Ono is "OMG SHRIEKING HARPY WHO BROKE UP THE BEATLES", I tend to back away and keep that person at a distance.
Well, yeah, I mean, her approach to everything creative is a really conceptual one, which tends to work really well in a visual medium but doesn't exactly make for the most accessible music. Which is why I prefer her visual work to her musical stuff, myself. But I wouldn't classify her music as 'bad' - just really abstract and conceptual.
