Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 1

Saw it tonight to the tune of $60 - the going rate for a family of four to see a movie and get drinks and popcorn.  Highway robbery.  :\

There are no spoilers here - promise!

I didn't care for the book and I have mixed feelings about the movie.   The last really good book in that series was #4, IMHO.  However, I realize that there are a whole lot of ( Read more... )

I'm hearing similar responses from other friends. Matt liked it but the first thing he said after seeing it is: "Gone are the scenes where Harry eats jelly beans and spews steam from his ears."

I think I'll wait till the fury dies down a bit.

We went to the theater close to our house and there were only about 15 people there, lol.

But yeah - one of my issues with that series was that, as the books got longer and darker, I feel like she lost a lot of momentum and part of the connection with the core of the characters for the sake of length and rambling side plots.

Again, just my opinion. :)

Awww, I'm sorry you didn't like it as much - DH is my favorite book and I think this movie is too.

(Of course the best part was seeing Nicki again - and don't listen to her.I was being nice to that bear. ;)) LOL

Jacob and I paid almost as much as y'all just for the two of us, cause we went to see it in IMAX. And I thought the movie ROCKED! But I am a huge HP fan, although I do agree with you about GoF (it's still my favorite movie).

I was disappointed that they didn't show the handshake between Dudley and Harry, as I thought that would have been cool.

I will probably be going to see it a couple more times (though in a regular theater, for a cheaper cost, LOL).

I want the next movie NOW!
