The Clash. Dude, totally the Clash. Of course there's "Straight To Hell", their best song, and one of my favorite songs of all time, and yes, there are a handful of other great ones, but overall-and look, I've heard every Clash song there is like a thousand times- the catalog of tunes is somewhat....mediocre. You should keep this list going. I am enjoying it.

Also, you should turn it into a book. Call it something like '101 Bands You Misremember'. I'll buy a copy...provided that you also autograph it, so that when some rabid, disgruntled fan shanks you on the subway, I can then sell it on Ebay.

I love some Clash songs but I agree that they're often overrated. I'll think I love the hell out of them and then I realize I just love the hell out of the 10 random songs of theirs I have in my iTunes.

While I recognize that arguing the greatness of a rock band is similar to getting upset about the judge's scores for figure skating, I'm going to weigh in on this one and say that The Clash had at least 22 GREAT songs, and many more that were pretty good.

Here are the great ones:

"Capital Radio One"
"London Calling"
"Hateful"
"Rudie Can't Fail"
"Spanish Bombs"
"The Right Profile"
"Lost in the Supermarket"
"Clampdown"
"The Guns of Brixton"
"Death or Glory"
"The Card Cheat"
"Train in Vain"
"Should I Stay or Should I Go"
"Rock The Casbah"
"Straight To Hell"
"Somebody Got Murdered"
"Janie Jones"
"I'm So Bored With The USA"
"Bankrobber"
"Safe European Home"
"English Civil War"
"Tommy Gun"

I'll agree with the Clash, plead ignorance on the Pogues, and disagree on Lou ( ... )
