It's not writer's block

It's not writer's block. It's just not knowing where to go next. I'm at a point in my story where my characters are in a particular, rather dire situation that requires them to travel a long distance by walking. I'm just not sure how to proceed from there without it becoming that scene in Clerks II where they discuss Lord of the RingsI may have to ( Read more... )

I dunno much about creative writing nor the process involved, but could you just skip the long journey part at the moment, and start writing what happens when they reach their destination. Maybe that will throw up something that will tell you what happened to them during their long walk....

I was going to comment along the same line .. write the ending .. it might reveal plot tid bits that you need to include to fill in the gaps.

You should try reading 'Around the World in 80 Days'. The whole book is about the travelling pretty much.
