Funny weather people

The met service kind of missed the point the other day. I was checking the on-line forecast for the day, as is my habit, and was told it was going to be a lovely fine day - only outside we had thunderstorms and hail stones the size of marbles. A couple of hours later I checked the site again and was told we were going to get thunderstorms, instead ( Read more... )

You can friends protect the posts instead of deleting them! That way only those people whom you have added as friends can read them. You can also make custom friends groups from those on your friends list that can be used as even narrower filters (like, only show sarcastic comments about your boss to people who live on the other side of the planet, or something).

Thanks for the info, that does seem less paranoid, which is a good thing. I must resist the paranoia!

Dennis was going for a job with ITV. ITV googled him and found his livejournal blog. They told him they were not interested in having a second interview with him because of some of the stuff they found there. They took seriously stuff that was clearly not serious, and didn't like the fact that he went into detail but other job interviews. It really sucked. I think it made a lot of us a bit nervous and more security conscious.I think it is really unfair, because using livejournal against you is the equivalent of interviewing in person all your 'real life' friends to find out what you really think and behave and no one would see that as acceptable. Sadly, its the way of the world.

well, that certainly sucks. i mean, if you're not telling State Secrets, what should it matter? What you do out of work shouldn't mean anything. Sheesh.

'F-locked' that would have been a great name for a '80s hip-hop band!

I go out of town for a few days and everything changes! I'm sorry to hear about Dennis's experience. To add to everyone else's comment, I also think if your real name is in no way associated with your account profile, then you'd also be safe, ie nothing to google.

Funny about the weather. Wouldn't it be nice to have something accurate for a change?
