I was a latecomer, but I remember those stories - I always thought the "Soul: Actor" line on the driver's license was a nice touch.

(And sure, Michael was melodramatic, but he knew it, which counts for quite a bit to me as a reader.)

I got a little from Machine of Death, yes. No continuing royalties, I just sold them my first print publication rights (domestic and international).
