We approached the white-shrouded altar. Absolvatron and I made a quick sign of the cross, him out of entirely synthetic artificial devotion, me out of habit hammered into me over many long years. I had the weird thought that neither one was a real gesture, for two entirely different reasons.
I smiled at that.
Great stuff, Channing - I'm on the edge of my seat.
"utterace" I hate to mess with Mebbyspeech. Just wondering if she meant to say _and_ pronounce "utterance" with an n.
This is pretty good. A lot of serious stuff, atmospheric stuff, chuckles, and weird-funny-cute (Uncle Franklin?). I identified with needing six guys (but I think that unless Mebby is working her plant mojo, Trish is faster) and laughed quite a bit at the history with Absolvatron.
When I read this: "Truth to tell, I wasn't sure what to do with laughing-boy. I was just planning on surviving as long as possible and seeing what happened after that." I felt so much like it could also be describing the current John Winchester scenario with me. And then I read the rest of that paragraph. Yeesh.
Thanks for posting. I love me some Starbuck Avenger.
This inspires me to work on my fan fiction, but I'm totally stuck with that too, despite having lots of _things_ in it. Confused.

Thanks for your commentary!
(And, yes, Trish is thinking Plant Mojo Mebby, as you will see early in the next part.)
