I know what you are saying, about Halloween, and about the "anniversary". It IS all a bunch of crap. I am already thinking about how sad Christmas is going to be this year. December 21st will be six months, December 24th is (would be) his 14th birthday, and then of course Christmas.
I'm like you, thinking, "How the heck am I gonna live the rest of my life this way??". I still don't know the answer to that, but I can guess that it is something like, "Just because.".
