I don't think so. Obviously his ex was part of his life for awhile so a lot of things from his past include her. If he is just mentioning her in passing, this is fine. It's if he talks about her constantly and pointlessly, then I would worry.

I will still mention my exes around new boyfriends if they are part of a story I'm telling (for example, I was on a roadtrip and I happened to be with my ex... I'm not going to avoid mentioning his name if he's part of the story).

Don't worry. It's no big deal, but it's understandable that it would bother you.

Thanks. :) I just need to have my mind put at ease. I get like this, lol. And it has been in convos. Even though the bike thing was a bit out of the blue, though he was talking about keeping fit stuff so....

i agree with Marsha. If it's random, or part of a story he's telling, then I would say that's fairly normal.

It's when he starts saying things like, "Well my ex never did that" or "YOu know my ex used to and..." etc., etc. It's when he starts comparing or trying to see things in you that would be like her, etc. that kind of gets it all messed up.

For now, I wouldn't worry. It sounds like it was a just in passing type thing.
