I have not watched Chuck in ages. I will admit, I tuned out around the middle or near end of season 3. It just started getting a bit too predictable for my taste. But I agree with you about the early seasons and how fantastic and fun they were. Ah, memories...
I was iffy on pretty much the first half of season three, but the second half I loved (episode 10 and after). But season four was just so ehhhhhhhh, I never felt like watching season five was worth my time. Plus, it was on at the same time as Fringe.
The finale made me cry. I was overall pretty pleased with it. They made some decisions pre-finale that I didn't like, but they came to the best resolution that I think was possible for what they wrote themselves into. There were SO many callbacks to the first couple seasons, I was a mess, emotionally. Laughter, and sobbing, and all that. Or at least, I wanted to sob. My body sucks at letting me properly cry at TV, so I'm thankful for the very short bit of crying I did. It sucks to want to cry, to feel like you need to, and to be unable to. But anyway. Season five was better than four, and the finale was mostly very good.
