The bad thing about...

...being a sysadmin is that everyone thinks they can do your job. Well guess what mother fuckers... you can't.

That's all I got to say about that.

JPT-
Saw this and I feel some Soldier coming out of you.....good stuff. I'll make the assumption that something not-good happened and a "know it all" tried to fix something that was echelons above their skill level.

On a positive note, the season premiere of "Smallville" was tonight.....proof that there is a God.

Sort of. Nothing bad happended but a user took upon himself to install some software. Then started talking about how great it was. The software was slower than the standard and a bit buggy.

My boss said to make the user happy to purchase the software. This is a user who is the lowest when it comes to technical ability but second when it comes to senority.

Just pissed me off a bit.

All computers here at FT Bliss are so micro-managed by the post that we can't install crap and can't configure anything to suit our specific needs......even down to the desktop background....screen saver time....power management options (on laptops)....etc.

This definitely isn't Korea in 1994.....where you could do whatever you wanted to do with a piece of automation.....haha!!
