THOUGHTS ON OPENING FOR THE MISFITS

Opening for a band like The Misfits is both a dream come true, and an opportunity that any local band would cheerfully kill to have.  It does, however, come with a price, and can be a mixed blessing.  The cost of a local club bringing in such a legendary act is prohibitive, making your own paycheck a grand total of $0.00 most of the time.  Don’t ( Read more... )

Reaching a new widespread audience is what you did, as proven by the deluge of e-mails you mentioned. A lot of the bands I've come to love I discovered as openers...K's Choice, Lacuna Coil, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Lacuna Coil come to mind right off.

I wish to the Evil Wizard I could've been there to see it! Although those Fiends weren't there for you, they saw you, and were able to bask in the glow of Houston's best kept secret!

They may not have been there for you, but now a bunch of people who didn't know who the hell you are, now know and that's a great thing. You played with the Misfits when you could have been home or been in the audience and that's a great thing. Sorry I couldn't be there for you guys, but 1500 miles is a bit far ;) Congrats on opening for the Misfits. Cheers mate!
