...i was going to write a post loving delirious?, but i'm currently watching a programme on bbcthree about the most irritating pop songs. so, yeah, most of them are pure cheese - whitney's i will always love you and toploader's dancing in the moonlight - but then they rounded on poor daniel bedingfield. and they didn't even criticise his song, if ( Read more... )

I get really angry when people start talking about someones faith when that's not the question at all! Christians has got just the same rights as anyone else doing what they love, whether it's music or anything else!
Here in Norway half of the people in the finals of "Idol" last year were open about their faith, and people were talking like they were aliens, and didn't belong there at all..!

Hi Jess,

Christianity is my thing, but on a non church/doctrine level. I just got spammed today by a church I used to go to, and now I have made the choice to never go back. My current church is also calling the house, for money, and to get us back in the gig...but I'm so peeved at people's ways of doing this that I have given up.

Be not discouraged though. God and I are still together. I just can't stand church people who throw things at me, especially on line and over the phone. Let me know if that makes sense. Delirious? is good...they've done songs I am familiar with....squee!

it's good to hear that you still respect christianity, even if the whole church // doctrine thing hasn't been so good. i've always been lucky in that my churches have always been amazingly supportive in every way possible and when we did have problems with them asking for money, etc, my parents got us out of there damn fast. that's not a healthy place for any christian to be in, regardless of denomination.

i really hope you can find another church, because the right place can make the world of difference to your faith. :] but, yeah, i totally understand your reasons for wanting to be shot of this particular one - they don't sound too uplifting, from what i've heard. :[

delirious? is amaaaazing. their eighth studio album, "the mission bell", is just so apt for today's society - i must do a post on it at some point! what songs do you know by them, out of interest?

I can see what you mean Jess. As you already know I'm not very Christian, but it annoys me when people think all christians are either fundamentalists or trailer-trash believers. My experience is that most christians are pretty open-minded, respecting and normal (well, except the woman in the video I showed you...)

And I love Christian music btw :P

I absolutley hate when people do that to Christianity. You know, if Daniel Bedingfield (who I really like) was Muslim, they'd put him on there. They teach tolerance towards Muslim terroists but not to Christian.

And you're right - we don't help oursleves. The minority (the 'nuts') give us a bad name and the ones who truly are living right don't step up. People always seem to look at the two extremes and never the middle ground. It seems to be that way with most things and I'm tired of it. Water-down people don't do anything for anyone.

Haha, sorry, rant. ^^

it's just ridiculous - the people were treating him as if he was lacking a major braincell because he's christian. ughhh.

oh, i agree with you a hundred and fifty percent there. there was an article in the 'paper today about some strange "christian" guy who put needles through his son's tongue and lip to "get rid of the devil". now, where in the Bible is that advocated? nowhere in the version i read! and they made such a massive deal about the fact that the nutter's a pentecostal (my denomination) and it really made me so angry, because it just fuels the rumour that we're all like that.

lol, i've ranted, too!

xoxo.
