Tonight was really fun. I finally have someone I can talk to. Her name is Christy. We have a lot in common even though we are from different places. She has the same job as me and we share the same mentalities on things. She gives me motivation. I actually want to do things now that she is in my life. My husband was having to do everything ( Read more... )

North Dakota? ouch natasftw November 25 2003, 05:27:52 UTC
Ouch. =(. My folks are from south dakota. The 4 years I spent in sd are the reason I joined the Army in the first place. =)

My dad travels back and forth between SD and ND now for his job and to be around the family.

Good luck getting used to the new place, I know how that goes :P

You should try the overseas station sometime. Then you're limited to meeting military people unless you wanna learn an entire new language((which isnt the easiest thing to do))

Don't work too hard...it wouldn't be right if the Air Force was working harder than I am =)

It really isn't that bad if you can get past the cold. I like the people here. We just got here from New Jersey. Much nicer people here. Trust me the Army does much more work than we do...well as far as working out goes. But good news, because there are so many fat asses in the AF we are now doing this "new" fitness program. We have to run instead of riding a stationary bike testing our heart rate. We have to run 1.5miles worth up to 30pts, they measure our waist worth up to 30pts, and push ups and sit ups worth up to 10pts each. I don't know how you guys do it but this is going to kill alot of lazy people...hey I am glad. I just popped out two kids right in a row and I still look better than most of these fatties.

talk to you later...

1.5miles! Damn, it's poetic irony. I was going to join the Air Force but was too damn lazy to make the drive to their recruiter so I went to the army one instead. I'm guessing you already know the army standards.

Read back in my lj a bit and you'll see how hard I work. My pt program is on my own so I'll run once a week or so and lift weights along with doing some pushups on shift. That's all I do.

I can't get past the cold and I'm not a big fan of trucks or conversations revolving around trucks which seemed to be dominant among people in SD. It drove me insane. =(
