Can't disobey God, at least as much as possible I can't. :\
Peta is extremely biased, so they tend to show things at huge extremes to win people over, so you've most likely seen something that really doesn't happen anywhere remotely to as much as they want you to think.
What's important in all this is that if you keep a holy day, keep it for God's sake; if you eat meat, eat it to the glory of God and thank God for prime rib; if you're a vegetarian, eat vegetables to the glory of God and thank God for broccoli. (Romans 14:6 MSG)
I can sympathize, but I am really against PETA. they take everything to the extreme. I saw a pamphlet they sent out a while ago that told kids "Your mother is a cold-blooded killer! Ask her where she got that fur coat! Imagine a pet you have, playing with it, having fun with it, now imagine your mother killing it! Betcha didnt know your mother was a killer!" And it had pictures of skinned minks and whatnot. That was paraphrased, but it was pretty close to what it said. And the pamphlet was aimed to kids under 14.
That's the most horrible thing I've seen in ages. :( I've seen still pictures of those campaigns, but that was awful. I feel inclined to buy a cow as a pet also and shower him with love.
Ack... I'm a huge animal lover too. I saw something like that on TV once and it seriously made me debate about going vegan. :T Pooor animals! I want to save them all! :(
