Jekyll Fanfic Archive

Jan 14, 2009 14:45

Hello everyone! After many failed attempts to get fanfiction.net to add a Jekyll category to their listing and after all the overactive rumors of LJ's impending doom, I decided to create a Jekyll Fanfic archive over at my site. So if you've posted here or have written a Jekyll fanfic, I'm pleading with you to upload it to the Jekyll Fanfic Archive. ( Read more... )

I may have found a bug in the archive. Yesterday, after you updated the category list, I went back and added some of the new genre tags to "99.5% Human." When I visited the archive this evening to see if anyone else had signed up, I noticed the little "Categories" box in the lower left corner of the home page says that there are six stories by pairing but zero stories by genre, even though the genre tags are present for the story when I view its listing on the "Most Recent" and "Title" pages. Also, the "By Pairing" page claims that there are zero Tom/Claire/Hyde stories, but clicking on the Tom/Claire/Hyde link brings up "99.5% Human," just like it should. Did I somehow manage to break things by messing with the story info too many times or by forgetting to log out last night or something like that?

Go take a quick peek again. I did a "recalc" function and it looks like some of the tags are now showing totals. I'll just have to remember to recalculate the site stats every once in a while.

Yes, that looks better. Thanks. :) I was beginning to worry that I had poked at it until something in the programming gave up in disgust.

I'm having difficulties with the characters function when adding stories, I can't get more then one at a time. How do I add more then one?

I believe you have to click the "Ctrl" button while selecting each character you wish to add in the list. Give that a try and let me know if you have any problems. Thanks.

Ah-ha! Brilliant. I was trying "shift" over and over again and getting nowhere fast. "Ctrl" didn't even occur to me.

Hi, I was just poking around the archive again and realized that there isn't a Min/Miranda pairing category. Also, you might want to provide the option of "Other Pairing" in case someday someone wants to write Peter/Ms. Utterson or Benjamin/Christopher or something like that. Under the Genre heading, sooner or later we're probably going to need Drama, Humor, Family, Fluff, Suspense, PWP, and Action/Adventure. Maybe you should just go ahead and add all of the FFN genre categories that you haven't already included (although we probably won't need "Western" any time soon) just to make sure that all the bases are covered. :)

Thanks again for more suggestions. I've made the additions so we have a nice selection of categories to choose from now.
