I was talking to some random people on a board I go to once in a while and they were talking about Katrina and how devastating it was and everything..Don't get me wrong, My heart goes out to those people, what happened to them is horrible and I'm praying for each and every one of them. Why put your life at risk year after year....and why am I considered crazy by these same people for living where I do?

Every area has its hazards, from drought to cold, from earthquakes to hurricanes and dangerous wildlife. You'd be hard pressed to find a completely "safe" place to live anywhere in the world.

People are more used to dealing the hazards in their own areas than the more "exotic" ones they haven't experienced. That's all.

Nods, very true..It isn't easy for most to look outside their own area..I'm a "military brat" So I have lived a few different areas and have dealt with many different "area hazards" So, I guess it's hard to remember that most have never left their general area..
