That seems to me a befitting way to have send him to his last journey.
May he rest in peace.

I looked at the picture the whole time, it never occurred to me not to... It was an emotionally very demanding day, we had more time to talk about Ratz in the car and I'm still rather fragile around my nerves - you had this organised so nicely, thank you for the opportunity to say good bye (even though your choice of music was on the evil side, we agreed afterwards that we were busy not to start crying openly).

Damn, his nephew looks just like him...

totally agree with what you wrote... and I talked with Silke and a former class mate of Ratz about our memories on our way back to/at the train station... I am glad that I could make it to be there...

*hugs*
I was glad to see you, too.
Even though I had little time for you all I felt better for knowing that somewhere in the crowd there wered people who are my friends as well...

The decoration is just so stunningly beautiful and ... natural. It looks like he had been sitting there just a moment ago with a beer, looking out at the lake, and then whoever it was that came to pick him up walked by and ... accompanied him to where he is now.

You made it the perfect place for a good bye. Wish I could have been there, but I have been thinking of you all yesterday.
Many hugs.
