The poem had various sparks that initiated the content but mostly it began with the title which I don't always do and then I was guided by astrology and numerology to blend the scene in my head with words so that I could attempt to write a complicated puzzle in hopes that it would awaken some slumbering warmth condensed between breasts, caged beneath bones and wriggling toward the sound of vibrating emotions on strings. I was listening to Andrew Bird's "Carrion Suite" on repeat because Marley asked for me to play it while he fell asleep and since it created the ambiance for the poem I just kept looping it so that I didn't lose the energy and flow that I was emerged in which was fine by me because it is a beautiful composition.
