Anyway, my personal pity playlist pretty much entirely consists of songs about love lost. How does it help me feel better? I don't know, but maybe knowing someone else out there is going through the same shit just helps. I don't have a legit playlist but I'm usually haunting around specific albums:
Bright Eyes "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning"
Rilo Kiley "More Adventurous"
The Postal Service "Give Up"
Jeff Mangum "Live At Jittery Joe's"

I don't pick my pity party songs based off of theme (hence Hands-Down being on there....and Our Swords and Naked- those lyrics have nothing to do with love or loss.) It's more that they're songs that I listened to on repeat during really tough times...like Naked- that one has to do with loss for me. I listened to that song on repeat until I wore out the tape the when my grandmother (who I was incredibly close to)died. I really don't like the Goo Goo Dolls, but when I'm having a really rough day I automatically grab the mix cd that song is on because of the comfort the song provided me in the past.
