I can see how this would be a really tough decision. Does UT Austin have assistantships available? Or is that already factored into the $15,000? I saw that the assistantships give in-state tuition.
Just based on my experience, the most valuable things I have done have been things like this - going to Hendrix, studying abroad, traveling, etc. All of these things were too expensive and scary, but I am so much happier having taken that route than if I had stayed at home and attended MSU (and now I know for sure!). Nobody can make this decision for you, but I think you'd really benefit from going to Texas.
