Yay I agree, rah rah...whoopie holiday and all that. (sigh)
I spent this Independence day buying a refrigerator Did I want to..no. Did I HAVE to,yes. Did I have the money to buy one? No...I had to go low price range and they tried their darndest to sell the fancy big better and $1k plus. For a frickin fridge? Give me a break...
Still mine died yesterday so all the food has to be thrown out. I am just pretty much annoyed but hey could be worse.
Hope you have fun with your folks ! A nice meal would be more than worth it for 49 years together. As you say I can't imagine...still wonderful that some people have found that one and stayed together. Congrats to them!

It's amazing how much appliances are these days. I was floored recently when I went to look at washer/dryers. I have 2 really old ones that cost me $300 3 years ago. I guess they'll be around much longer as prices on these things are astronomical. I guess they figure since everyone has credit cards it doesn't matter... Where did you buy the fridge?
