Lots to get through today! I've made an impromptu walkthrough of my comic making process, I'll post a better one on dA very soon, and I have some lovely precious fanart to share!
Now for some behind the scenes art from my Asylum comic!
This is a panel from the above comic page, at 100%:
As you can see, it's massive. I actually worked at a tiny size for much of my mafia comic - i.e. I would work at 500x800 and that would be the finished product. But I've found that a larger size is a lot easier, even though Photoshop does struggle to save it.
Here is the sketch of the latest comic page.
When I first sketch out my page I often draw the panels and sketched people on separate layers. I didn't for this page, just because I got lazy. But when I first sketch my panels for a whole page I like to check that the composition flows smoothly from one panel to the next. I do this on another layer over the top of the sketch layer.
I use speech bubbles to join panels, e.g. in the third panel the speech bubble leads to the next panel.
The inks are simple enough - default hard round brush, probably at about 30px, in black.
For the latest page I used a green overlay to make some indication of shadows. I don't want the comic to be just plain black and white so I think this mid-tone works well... plus it's a LOT easier than colouring it realistically like I did for the first few pages!!
The end! That's how I drew this page.
Now for the fanart!

What adorable art! I never thought anyone would like my comic, especially when nothing has even HAPPENED in the comic yet. It's just people talking. hahaha... well, hopefully once I get some free time I will draw some ACTION! INTRIGUE! ROMANCE! This comic will be psychology-packed, and fun to boot! I promise!
