So, as some of you know I work in a build with a large bay area (2.5 stories tall, but....60 feet diameter) that houses some research vehicles. I have a large window/wall of glass that faces this area. Well,  while not surprising to hear a car horn etc etc, it is still funny when the car alarm goes off and you watch as three or four  grad students

Scurrying grad students are fun in principal. Having been one, I can definitely say so.

It's not just scurrying graduate students. You are a non-enginerd witnessing enginerds in their native habitat, and that alone can provide endless hours of amusement. :)
