I adore this poem, think about it weekly.

Also, YOU WERE IN MY DREAM LAST NIGHT! (It wasn't the first time I've dreamed about LiveJournal friends I've never met.) Unfortunately, it was a really annoying dream, sorry.

God, this is so embarrassing. The dream was about a guy I hooked up with a while ago (in real life). In the dream, I found out that he had hooked up with you the same night (this involved a bizarre coincidence in which we all happened to be staying at the same hotel in my hometown, for different reasons) and was continuing to write long emails to both of us; playing us both, I guess.

It was one of those dreams that's annoying because you know it's a sign that you're thinking *too much* about something/someone you "shouldn't" be thinking about.

Way to rub my face in the insecurities I'm trying to pretend I don't have, Subconscious!

I don't know why you showed up as the third party, probably because dude is an LJ friend.

Hmmm...In all my dream interpretation training, we learn that everyone in the dream is you; a male dream character represents your masculine and a female, your feminine. And of course the feelings of the dream are of paramount importance.

You could unpack this whole dream piece by piece, if you were interested, using each of the main symbols -- the guy, me, the hotel, the hometown, the "two-timing"...

Dreams are so fascinating. I don't actively interpret each one I remember, but I definitely notice themes, and the more obvious and common symbols, like water (representing feelings) and bathrooms (representing release).
