learning xml-rpc

Where can I learn about xml-rpc so I don't have to keep manually pinging blogrolling/technorati/etc when I update my homemade weblog system?

I know what it is.. I need to learn how to implement/use it..

I received that message last week from Live Journal about my password. It wasn't a big deal, so I just changed it...

Yeah, but the problem with changing it is I'm more likely to forget it, will therefore give it an easier-to-remember password and thus put my account more at risk. Not that anyone would actually want to hack my account, it's not like I ever post anything in it anyway! :P
