I think about this a lot and have been praying, but differently now. I remember back in high school I would pray for boyfriend(s)! I'm still human and so easily susceptible to loneliness but somehow I'm more.. aware that God is involved and will do things in His time. You'll see, and when that happens, it'll be great and wonderful and you'll be happy that you weren't dragged through a string of many failed relationships. If Passion and Purity wasn't Barbara's I would lend it to you! Here is a quote from one of Jim Elliot's letters to Elisabeth Elliot: "I should be more importunate in prayer, more dogged in devotion, and should not get, as you say, to a 'weary acceptance of things as they are.'" This was before they were married, obviously, but also before they were in a relationship together because although they liked/loved each other, they were seeking to do God's will first and He was saying "No, not yet" to them. I think, for me at least, until I am able to get to the point where I can put Him above all and continue ( ... )
