She moved away from her desk, moving slowly as she perched against the edge, eyeing him with a small smile.
"Drew has been very watchful," she continued. "Hence why the offices are now on lockdown on the weekends-"
She gestured to the papers behind her.
"Which is why I'm entirely up to my ears in ridiculous crap," she laughed. "You doing alright?"

"Seen better days." He'd also seen worse ones very recently, so that was also a consideration. "I figured I've been MIA on you long enough, and you could use some help." He could as well, but he'd work up to that.

"They're rare but there are some days when I want to burn this whole place down," she said, rubbing at her temples. "This is teetering close to being one of these days."
She offered him a hapless shrug.
"That gossip column has everyone upset," she said. "I have people thinking they're seeing wolves roaming their backyards-"
She laughed dryly.
"Bloody idiots don't know what a damn coyote looks like."
