I Think We Missed [flashback]

It was dangerously close to curfew and Jemma was twitching with slight anxiety and her stomach buzzing with butterflies. The extent to which her relationship with Drew had progressed in the past few months was, well, not the farthest. In fact, it had been a lot of hand holding and giggling, the two of them sneaking off into the corridors after ( Read more... )

Andrew Kirke, for the most part, was still completely shocked that a girl like Jemma Dorny would ever look his way. But the two of them had somehow fallen into their own little world together and it was a lot of fun, shocked that she was skipping certain classes to spend more time with him and calling him over when she saw him enter the Great Hall.

It was actually worth all of the teasing from Jonah and Jack for how much time he now found himself in front of the mirror, noticing for the first time the way that his hair fell and that shirts actually could wrinkle if you left them crumbled up at the foot of your bed for too long.

Suddenly, he cared about all that stuff.

Especially tonight, the two of them sneaking off to take a long walk and hope that Snape wouldn't catch them.

"Jemma, you're early-" he said, grinning as he stepped out of the Gryffindor Common Room.

She turned at the sound of his voice, a bright smile tugging at her lips as he finally stepped through the portrait. She hadn't been waiting for very long, just a few minutes or fifteen, maybe- she hadn't wanted to be late. She had a problem with that. She even raced to her classes to be early.

And if she was hanging out with Drew tonight, she wanted to make sure she was perfectly on time.

"Oh, I just got here," she said, shrugging her shoulders. "I wasn't waiting long at all."

"Oh, good," he said, sighing in relief as he reached for her hand.

He thought that maybe he had lost track of time again, putting too much hair gel in his hair and having to wash it all out just to start the entire process over again. He would never forgive Arya for teasing him about how flat and floppy his hair could be, teasing him about Jemma wanting to run her fingers through it.

Now it was really all he could think about when they were together.

"Let's go down the south hall, there shouldn't be anyone down there this time of night-"

She couldn't help but look down at their hands joined together briefly, hoping that her palm didn't turn too clammy as they moved down the hallway.

"That sounds like a good idea," she said, looking to him timidly. "I think I saw Filch on the other side of the building when I came from Ravenclaw Tower-"

She pressed her lips together.

"So um, was your day good?" she asked.
