Well just count off 505 pennies to one side and 50 to the other side. Now you have two piles of pennies with equal nUmber of tails. (Though some pennies will be tails side DOWN). :)

Take any ten pennies and call them Group 1. Flip ALL of the pennies upside down, so all the heads-up pennies are now tails-up and tails-up pennies are now heads-up. The remaining ninety pennies are Group 2 and, subsequently, have the same number of tails-up as Group 1.

This works because inverting the ten pennies in Group 1 makes the number of tails-up pennies removed from the whole mirror the number of tails-up pennies left for Group 2.
