I've got nothing witty this morning

Finally worked out last night.  I've been talking about it for, um, months, I guess.  I went to the gym, but I get so bored at the gym.  About 20 minutes of a cardio machine is all I can handle.  It doesn't help that I'm slightly perfectionist-like, so I see people who are doing what I'm doing only they are doing it better than me, so I want to ( Read more... )

Which gym did you go to?

Cardio inside is boring - magazines don't last long enough (and are hard to read if you're walking/running) and I believe the elipticals are actually probably bad for you since they put you into an awkward position.

I need to get a routine at the gym one of these days. Goofy personal trainer hasn't done much of anything for me yet.

The gym everyone I know is going to, or at least wants to go to, Allstar. It's a nice place, but it is hard to do the cardio indoors. I'd rather be outside running, but the gym offers the child care. One of these days, maybe tomorrow, I'll check out a class. They have a pilates class I might try on my lunch (since the only time pilates is offered is in the middle of the freaking day!)

Funny, I tried the elliptical on Monday and it was awkward. Easier to read a magazine though!

How many sessions do you have left with goofy personal trainer? Can you switch!?!!? :p

I think I have one more session - but I could be wrong.

The whole personal trainer thing just feels like a way to keep asking you to sign up for more classes. Dare I say scam? Just have to see. I asked him a little bit about it and he had good reasons for doing it how he does, but I'm still a little unsure.

Allstar is the place to be!

You could always use the day care and go run outside . . . but then again, that area of town isn't the greatest. Or you could go to Costco - but that might be abusing the system a little bit.

Pilates only at lunch? That's really stupid. You could swim - swimming is a hell of a workout!

I've run in the neighborhood before. It's where the Police Department is, so I feel pretty secure. However, I'm paranoid about dropping the kids off and leaving, so I'll try running outside on the weekends!

That sucks about the personal trainer. I just signed up for 3 sessions, mainly to see if she can do what she says she can do! I probably won't go back the three 'cuz I'm uber cheap!

A lot of people I know go to Allstar. We get a slight discount through our employer so my boss goes there and a couple of other coworkers. One of my good friends is thinking about joining and her friends already go there. I like that it's fairly cheap for all they have to offer, even with the added child care expense.
