Spring 2012 Anime - Comments/Thoughts
I was pretty behind on last season's shows. Actually, I still am a bit, but I managed to clear up some of my queue.
ENDED:
*Natsu-iro no Kiseki
It started off as something that I thought I might not like, and I almost decided to drop it after the first episode. But then I stuck with it, and it totally turned directions. And I found it to be pretty heartwarming after a few episodes.
*Sankarea
I almost didn't watch this one because of the zombie premise, but decided to give it a shot. The portrayal of Chihiro's feelings after the novelty wore off and the seriousness of the situation was very palpable. In some ways it made me dread what might be coming in later episodes. I really liked the art directions in the last episode. It may have ended abruptly, but it may have been their intention to set it up that way. That "oh sh--" moment...
*Tsuritama
While I kind of saw it, I didn't quite see that coming, but wow. It ended well, but the last part just had me go, "eh?" The colors and style of the animation were very unique. And I didn't really connect the names of the 4 main characters with the seasons until yesterday...
*Sakamichi no Apollon
For a while, I was putting off watching the rest of it after watching the first 5 episodes. But the middle episodes were really great. The last episode, I felt there could have been more closure, but still, the ending was good in its own way.
CAUGHT UP WITH:
*Accel World
They've been pushing a certain line of thought lately, so I'm expecting it to happen later.
*Hyouka
My favorite part is Oreki's habit of pulling on his bangs when he's thinking. After the last film episode, the overall feel of the show feels a little different though.
*Kuroko no Basuke
Love the intro of Tetsuya 2-gou. But I do miss the first opening and ending already. Especially the "Can Do" opening.
*Hunter X Hunter
New arc starting after Heaven's Arena.
*Area no Kishi
I sense an impending internal struggle coming up.
