Normally, I would have written about the new TV season already but then this whole year hasn’t been normal in any way. There isn’t going to be much of a regular TV season and most of the shows I watch aren’t airing again until next year but I’ll take what I can get right now.
NeXt. Premieres 10/6 on FOX. Airs Tuesdays at 9 pm EST. This is one of the few new shows on this season. It involves scientists trying to prevent a rogue AI from destroying humanity. Looks interesting.
Swamp Thing. Premieres 10/6 on CW. Airs Tuesdays at 8 pm EST. This already aired on DC Universe but I don’t subscribe to that so I’ll be able to watch it here. I’m not a huge fan of the character but I used to watch the old show they used to have with Swamp Thing so I’ll give it a try.
Walking Dead: World Beyond. Premieres 10/4 on AMC. Airs Sunday nights. This is a spin-off from the Walking Dead. It’s only going to last two seasons so it’s more like a mini-series. It involves a group of kids from the Commonwealth, a large community of survivors, who set off into the zombie-infested wilderness. I’ll pretty much watch anything Walking Dead related and they’re planning on more spin-offs so I’ll have more to watch.
WandaVision. Premieres 12/21 on Disney+. One of several Marvel spin-off series that are going to be exclusive to Disney+. I’m looking forward to all of them with varying degrees of excitement. This one follows Scarlet Witch and Vision after the events of End Game. It looks really good.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Premieres 12/21 on Disney+. Another Marvel series that looks interesting.
Loki. Premieres ? on Disney+. This is the Marvel series I’m looking forward to the most. I really love Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki. He’s such a great mix of mischief and wounded pride. It doesn’t have a release date yet.
I’m also looking forward to the eventual return of other shows like:
The Flash-2021
Legends of Tomorrow-2021
Batwoman-2021
Black Lightning-2021
Evil-2021
Orville-Season 3 will be on Hulu at some point.
The Mandolorian-10/30.
Walking Dead-10/4 for a short season that will be wrapped up next year for their last season.
Fear the Walking Dead-10/11.
Manifest-2021
Amazing Race-10/14.
Young Sheldon-2021
The Outpost-10/8
Stargirl-2021. The first season was awesome.
What We Do in the Shadows-2021 (I love this show!)
Survivor-I have no idea when this show will be able to film new seasons. It might be a while.
There’s also an animated “What If…?” show that’s planned on Disney+ which will follow various alternate storylines for the Marvel characters. It sounds like a lot of fun. Besides all of these, there are plenty of TV shows I want to see on Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. If I ever get around to joining the DC Universe/HBOMax, I want to watch Teen Titans, Young Justice, the Harley Quinn animated series, and a few more. So even with so few shows starting this fall, I’ve still got plenty to occupy my time.
