I really enjoyed your overview and opinions about this episode. I, too, think that Brian means what he says and that his facial expressions tell the complete tale. I believe that he thinks his key to happiness is to do & be everything for Justin. I'll be posting my commentary when I go home from work and proofread it--very soon. Thanks for sharing your views, I really enjoyed your insights and I agree 100% with #10--"Long live the DVDs!" ;)
Speaking of DVDs, I'm so excited to know that Season One is being eventually re-released at a discounted price. That is heaven to a poor college-ridden art student who, thus far, only owns Season Two. And, that one was a generous Christmas gift. I need all of them, damnit!
I haven't seen 512 yet (Canadian here) so I didn't read this whole entry (I've read too many spoilers for my own good anyway) but I must say... I completely agree with #3. I totally understand what you mean with the mix of sarcasm and true meaning. That's definitely what I got from the prince comment. And most Brian's comments this season and any other season, come to think of it. *lol*
People, fictional characters and fans alike, don't pay attention. When Michael...ooo. Better not go any further because I don't want to spoil the details for you until you've seen it.
I reiterate. Try as he might, Brian always has and always will be an open book. I learned how to read him since day fuckin' one. Maybe it's been so easy for me because I emotionally relate to this character in so many ways.
You can tell me. I won't kill you. I promise. :P (I actually did read most of your entry anyway after I posted my comment. *lol* I'm weak.)
But yes, I agree. Gale is especially talented in the facial and vocal area (obviously in more ways than one). He can use facial expressions and tone of voice to portray something in a very specific way. And the fabulous thing is, he's consistent about it in QAF so you can learn to read him if you pay attention.
I relate to Brian personally too on some levels, but even more so, I've known similar men and can relate to him that way as well.
The talent of Mr. Harold shines on. Great observations, as well.
As I was saying, Michael pissed me off when he casually says to Brian, "Well, you were never really apart of his life, anyway," like Brian's absence isn't a deliberately considerate decision on his part? *gritsteeth* And, Michael isn't the first to think this. You're suppose to be his family, for Christ's sake. I swear, Justin and Debbie are the only ones who truely understand the man, and that is really sad.
