When you get to the Peninsula / South Bay part of your visit out here you should come have dinner with us. You're welcome to crash on our comfy futon, too. We replaced the mattress about four months ago; the new one really is super comfy. :-)

Let's see... We're talking 8/30-9/1, yes? We have an appointment that will keep us in the city until kinda late on Thursday; we should get home around 9-9:30pm. (Though if you wanted to meet us for dinner in the Mission a little before 6pm, and then hang out somewhere between 7 and 8pm while we deal with that, we could then head home with you in tow. And actually if you're renting a car, you could save us some time by giving us a ride to our car, which will be at San Bruno BART.) We both work from home on Friday and there's nothing on the calendar for that day at all. Saturday cortneyofeden has a birthday thing, which I'm not sure whether we're going to.

I sold most (all?) of my furniture to farwing when I left Boston, iirc. I think I still have some cookbooks and things there, though, which is why it's "nearly."

Would love to see you, too -- glad the logistics work out! Congrats on the house! I've had a couple different friends who lived in Alameda for a time and they all really liked it. It seemed like a nifty place. (Got your email, will reply shortly. :D)
