there is no good reason, medical, scientific, or otherwise, to think that you have genes that shouldn't be passed on.

also having 2 children is population-neutral. and if that still bothers you, can you compromise? have 1 child and adopt 1?

this is a big decision to start going through; good luck. tbh i'm kind of ashamed i havent had to really think about this yet

i tried the adopt 1 have 1 argument. he's not going for it.

so for me, i guess the decision is either compromise to his 2, or break up with him. i have had my mind made up on the no-kids thing for years now, and it seems wrong somehow to falter on something i've always felt so sure of.

honestly i think it is selfish of people to think that their genes are any more important than anyone else's, and i think it's more responsible to adopt. shit, if he wanted 5 kids i'd be more than happy to adopt 5 kids. or even 10. but why do we have to keep on populating when there are children living in foster homes and state residential centers when i could just give one of them a chance at a stable life?
