Yeah, so maybe not so much.

So, there my family was- at the hospital at 5:00 AM. We'd woken up at 3:00 AM, so we were a little wacky, especially those of us who'd driven 200+ miles to be there. My sister-in-law had a bout of hysterical laughter in the shower because the water pressure was too strong and the handheld unit kept popping off the hook and spraying water everywhere ( Read more... )

What a waste of time! Although you did get a spiffy breakfast out of it but your poor Mom has to go through this all again. And let's just hope that the bladder infection is gone in five days...

Well, the surgery is rescheduled for the 26th, so she's got a little more time to get better. But everyone wants it gone ASAP.

Yeah, it stinks. But what are you going to do? No surgery without catheter and no catheter with infection. She started taking Bactrim as soon as we got home on Thursday, so hopefully she will be 100% on the 26th- if not 100% happier.

Oh, Jenna, sorry to hear that. *hugs* I can totally relate to your dilemma about whether to go, but I think you're making the right call.

I'm heading up to Grand Traverse Resort for work on Wednesday for four nights, and now I'm hoping I'll have a chance to get over to the Omelette Shoppe. Yum!

You should definitely go- on a weekday if you can manage it. There's always a wait on weekends. And the location that's closer to Acme is not only closer to Grand Traverse Resort, it's bigger and easier to get a table. It's in a strip mall on the South side of Front Street next to a store called Wild Birds Unlimited (I think). Yummy stuff.

I'm not happy about having to stay home on the 26th, but I don't want her worrying more than she has to.

Ah, the weekdays are booked. My only option is really Sunday, but I will not be in a big rush, as that is check-out day and the long drive home. Although I don't want to be toooo full when I'm driving!

Awww, I'm sorry to hear they had to reschedule. I can't even imagine how nerve wracking that would be.

My "puffy paws" didn't have smiley faces. But they were double sided- no skid strips on both sides. When I woke up from my surgery I remember thinking "are my feet on upside down?" Heh.

Good luck on the 26th.

Thanks! We decided to call this a dry run. I'm glad your feet weren't actually upside down! Hee!

I would totally go. My mom was always guilty when I rushed home, but it made me feel better to be there so I could understand what is happening and be able to help. Plus, it might be of use to your dad. Tell her that you wouldn't be any use at work anyway.
