I'm so impressed that you donated plateletes again. Go you! I need to get my behind to Red Cross soon and donate blood (crossing my fingers that my iron count is high enough).
Also I find the less I try at most sports, the better I do. So annoying.
I love donating. It makes me feel so good, mentally. I could be sitting at home, watching TV for a couple of hours; or I could be at the Red Cross, watching TV for a couple of hours while they take out some of my most renewable resource. As much as I loved the feeling donating whole blood at blood drives gave me, donating by apherisis is that much more awesome!
I love donating. Really. And since I didn't donate reds, I can donate platelets more often. You can donate platelets up to 24 times per year. I have another appointment in five weeks. I figure I'll gradually start shrinking the space between appointments. I'm spacing them out more right now because I'm afraid of being deferred if I donate too often. Stupid iron level. I told the nurse that my blood pressure was a little higher than normal because instead of "white coat syndrome," I've been getting "red box syndrome."
As for the last paragraph: 1) I hope so, too (trauma cat is exhausting); 2) I have about 35 weeks to practice; 3) not a chance.
