I really feel bad for Ianto. He has to ask to be fed. He would take alot for care if he got sick. Of course if he was really bad off Jack might have a reason to pack Ianto off to UNIT and be done with him.
Who & what is C. Miggins & the Ellis-Mot Foundation? And, what do they have to do with Torchwood? Sounds suspicious & sinister!! Thanks for the excellent update. Poor Ianto, my heart almost broke to think no one thought to feed him. They forgot all about him, even Tosh. He just seems so lost. I must admit, I went back to the top of this chapter to make sure it still said "will eventually be Jack/Ianto". Not too keen on the thought of him possibly falling for Tosh. But, of course, I will keep reading - this is just so very good & well thought out. Sweet touch, Jack showing compassion for the baby space cow.
I'm loving the way you're laying the mystery of this story out: with allusions to people and organizations that will no doubt have some impact on Torchwood, the Queen's visit, or both. It's very tantalizing, and makes the reader hunger for more from just a few morsels of information. My curiosity is definitely piqued, and I'm eager to see just how things unfold in those regards.
Then we get more insight into the Ianto situation, and it's heartbreaking. Yet also somewhat understandable, too, considering there isn't much in terms of other options than keeping him in the Hub. Still, the fact that he's only really treated as a human by Tosh is sad and completely in-character for all of Team Torchwood. I'm enjoying the way you're playing this out, as it's slow paced yet rewarding and enlightening.
Fantastic job! Looking forward to what happens next!
I'm glad you feel Ianto's treatment is in character. Its so tempting to make everyone love each other and treat each other nicely, but alas, it would be OOC for that lot! *cough* bastards *cough*
I've actually never written mystery stories before, not like this, so I trying to find my feet with feeding information in to the reader. Its actually quite hard. Its reassuring to know I seem to be doing alright!
Thanks as always for your amazing, insightful, constructive and informative feedback. Love ya for it, really do!

And what ever is going on with Mrs. C. Miggins - it sounds ominous.
