Great chapter. Love the attention to detail, and how Ianto's skills - while not yet quite recognised - are starting to show. Yes, they should hang their heads in shame, that they've increased hub security, while leaving Ianto vulnerable. They still consider him a potential threat, so there should have been a panic button in the tourist office (even if it was just to protect them from him!)
The TW team are a bunch off shitters sometimes aren't they?
And its the mixed feelings that leads to the odd gaps. Jack is all about the 'threat' while Tosh is all about the 'friend' owen and suzie sit somewhere in the middle and no one knows what to do.
I'm glad you're enjoying things so far and thank you for the comment!
Poor Ianto, so afraid of Jack and not escaping from the kitchen soon enough to avoid him. Jack hardly had time to register that he was there before he was gone.
How sad that the only thing that occurred to any of them was Ianto doing something wrong. Not one of them even considered that he might be trouble, which is really pretty lame when you take into account just what they do there. Tosh is the only one who treats Ianto anywhere near human, but even she didn't think to provide him with any kind of protection. It's a good thing he listens and remembers, since he was basically hung out to dry up there on his own with no thought what-so-ever given to his safety. If not for his quick thinking, they wouldn't even have noticed there was anything wrong.
You're right they wouldn't have noticed... but thats one of Ianto's great strengths in the show, listening learning and noticing things when the others have their heads too far up their rear ends to see anything at all. In Tosh's defense tho, she has got a lot on her plate right now.
As for the scene in the kitchen, that was one of the clearest scenes in my head while writing this fic, and it was a giggle to write.
Thanks as always for the amazing feedback. I'm so glad you're still enjoying this and I hope you continue to!
Wow, you read all the way through from the beginning to here? thats a fair whack... hope it wasn't in one sitting, would hate to be responsible for you getting eye-strain or a migraine. :(
Lol.
ah well, you made it this far! Thanks so much for commenting. I'm so glad you've enjoyed it so far. More soon!
