so...OK, a lot of news in your three posts...I am a little overwhelmed...OK.
Awesome, you got a rad job offer! In DC!! right? M. is between NYC and New Haven, correct? I thought it would be really cool if you had to go to Jordan, though.
How much are they paying you? There's a part of me that judges the "realness" of a job by its paycheck. Maybe you'll actually be able to buy multiple ladies' suits, hmmm? Lovely. And, M. sounds equally lovely to have around.
Lastly, I am somewhat sorry to hear of your ridiculously good luck turned misfortune RE academia. What is it you prefer about the type of research you will now be doing in DC?
i prefer research that affects lives in what i hope will be a positive way. i'll be facilitating the distribution of health care and education among other things. plus i get into an environment i've never experienced before, namely a professional one. i'll learn a shit load about managing projects and public services in particular. this will give me major credentials and knowledge for moving on in public policy/international development.
you're absolutely right. M. is the best to have around. i wish he could move to dc. for now he's in new york. but the train is only 3.5 hours. that beats the 5 hour bus to northampton.
we are negotiating salary at the moment. i will definitely afford multiple ladies' suits.
as per academia. umass blows. it makes me want to die. i will miss philosophy. but i've still got the conversation since mihailis is immersed in the stuff......
your life has been eventful lately too. are you still broken up with the man?
