Disney advice?

Apr 28, 2008 16:57

The beau and I will be departing for Disney next Sunday, and I'm wondering -- anyone have recommendations/advice? I am an obsessive researcher, but I'd always rather hear a recommendation from someone I know.

If it's just the two of you, I recommend you try the "Drinking around the World" at Epcot.

Oh there's no "formal" thing - it's just that in every "country" you visit, you have a drink. So if you start in England, throw back a pint at around noon ....

If you make it past Mexico I'll be impressed. (Japan did me in years ago, with 2 jars of Sake over a late lunch/early dinner.)

That's my advice ... It can be a lot of fun. :)

Heh, awesome. I am notoriously fussy about my drinkitude - it generally needs to fall between cider and Malibu/Coke on the sweetness scale for me to like it. ;-)

I have heard of people doing the "desserts around the world" thing, though, along the same lines. Hey, if we're walking 7 miles a day that shouldn't be that bad...right? :-)

That's the plan. Although I was full of Fail on my research last year and didn't realize they close Hall of Presidents early, so 'vimes hasn't seen it yet. We will definitely fix that this time!

German Restaurant/section in Epcot!!!!!!!

Animal Kingdom is great too. Try the dinosaur ride if it's still there!

We loved the German place last year. I way overate though and by the time we got to "Extra Hours" at MGM I was feeling yucky. :-( No overeating this time!

Heh, funny you should say that. That ended up being the EXACT strategy we did last year, and it worked really well. UP early, do one park in the morning, do lunch if the lines aren't long, back to the room to chill out in the AC and nap, and then back out in the evening. The weather isn't deadly-hot in May, but it's hot enough that the mid-day break is a very good thing.

I could quite contentedly spend the entire trip at Epcot. :-)
