I don't know where to start, really. I came here so I could check out some MM fics to rec and stuff, and found this, and just-- oh, oh.

I think it's beautiful how you've managed to fit in so many small details on Mello and Matt's history (the bit about Matt's mom is gorgeous and sick in a beautiful way, as was Mello's plan of dynamite in the church), and the whole fic just works so well, y'know what I mean? I seriously don't know what else I could say, because it's just perfect like that.

HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL! On so many levels. Seriously, I'm so floored, I can hardly form a coherent sentence! o_O

So yeah... you'll just have to bear with my nonsensical rambling. XD And sorry, it took me a while to comment; by the time I got back from class yesterday, my internet connection was deader than 2/3 of the Wammy trio!

Anyway... ^^; To start, this has every element of exceptional M/M fiction: angst, grit, humor, subtle affection, and bisexuality. :) 'Cause yeah, I've always seen Matt as the sort of person who'd pretty much fuck anything that moves. XD In fact, your entire characterization of Matt was wonderful! I love how you fleshed him out through your backstory, and diverged from the usual opinionless-sidekick thing. In most M/M ficcage, Mello seems to have all the temper tantrums and Matt just kind of goes with it. So, Angry-and-distraught!Matt gets me hot and bothered like whoa! And for some reason, I also love him as a fat atheist, so that gets bonus points

I actually stalked you read that a while ago, but under a different username. ^^; Haha, straight!Matt made me giggle like a twelve-year-old on a sugar high, but Matt/Mello is still my first love, so I was thrilled to have gotten an M/M. Much as I adore Mello/Hal and generally ship het, omg! Matt/Mello is, like, my absolute OTP. Or pretty close. So, don't worry about that. ^_^

Agreed on Mello; the guy is, like, impossible to write. D: I tried a Mello/Near for my recipient, but that pretty much went to hell. ^^; So, I settled for a Mello/Matt from Mello's pov. It was really hard to keep from switching to Matt pov, 'cause he's just... I don't know... more sane? Hence, easier to understand

I wouldn't have been cheeky enough to write this fic for you otherwise XD I loved writing straight!Matt, and I wish I made him a bit straighter in this fic *g* I agree with you about it being tempting to switch to Matt's POV though - I tried with objective narrative in this fic, but it's really more Matt's POV. I think my first DN fic was from Mello's POV, but it was utterly spastic. Gotta have another go at it sometime~

I am totally weak at the knees for Mello/Hal, oh oh! Which is why it kills me that I can't get their dynamics right in anything I write about them. I also had the idea to write a fic about Matt walking in on Mello/Hal, but I'd MUCH RATHER read yours! Please please please ninja me the link when you've written it! And if you need probing, then I can send you my (tiny) folder of Mello/Hal fanart 8D
