Ages ago I started sketching Idina Menzel as her alter ego Maureen from Rent. I finally finished the sketch tonight. I found her nose incredibly difficult, but I'm happy enough with it now. Let me know what you think.

I think you are super, super talented! That's really gorgeous, Jen. And I meant to tell you in your last post that I love the pumpkins you did for Halloween. So cute! And it looks like they took a lot of work, too.

Thanks Julie! As for the pumpkins, I wasn't as into it this year as I usually am, so I almost stopped mid-carving. I'm glad I didn't though. Glad you liked them :)

The eyes are sooo pretty. Eyes make the piece, and these are so intense and piercing and gorgeous. Yeah. And I can't even imagine how long it took you for all that hair. Wow.

The overall piece looks a bit better in the scan than in reality...except for the eyes. They look even more piercing and freakishly realistic in person. Seriously, they freak me out. Definitely my favorite pair of eyes I've ever done. And yes, the hair was a pain in the ass. It really should be bigger, like poofier, but I got sick of doing it. Heh. Glad you like it :)
