I think I go through periods of voraciously reading and learning then reflectively listening and applying. I'm working toward the goal of being able to do those in tandem but I often find it hard to shut off my brain during learning mode long enough to allow the still small voice to get through. And I used to be the type of person who was content to just rest in "what I had always known" while seeking His face, but that had dangers of it's own. A good balance is what I need. I'll be doing Experiencing God with my fellow youth workers over the next several months while also doing an in-depth study of the Pentateuch so hopefully this will be changing.

I pray you are drawn into His presence during your studies. May He use them to bring lasting transformation.
