So gorgeous and sad. The film did beat Holmes up beautifully, didn't it, and you've made something quite lovely out of the wreckage.

Thanks so much for the kind words! Glad to hear it pleased. <3

And yes, poor Holmes had a rather difficult time of it... the film wasn't perfect, but it broke my heart and gave us some delightfully gratuitous h/c and really, I loved it to bits in spite of its flaws.

But in the end, it's the quiet little moments that interest me most - and so we have fic, I suppose! Thanks again, and I'm quite flattered that you enjoyed it ;)

A very moving piece. I love how you've captured the dynamic between the two of them, especially just after a traumatic experience (not only running for their lives, but torture and the not-knowing of Holmes' condition).

And the ending: 'It’s always been enough. He closes his eyes to the steady rise and fall of Holmes’s chest beneath his hand, and allows himself to pretend.' ;A;

Thank you! That's a very lovely compliment, and I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed it.

I do think that Watson would have had his own demons to work out, in the aftermath of what happened at the factory - a very traumatic experience for them both, as you say, regardless of the outcome.

So thanks again for the kind words - glad it pleased. <3

You know how much I adore this--but wanted to chime in a bit more publicly.

Thank you for continuing my fill to your prompt--once again the awesomeness of your talent leaves me speechless and wishing I had half as much!

This is devastatingly beautiful, haunting and as everyone else has said, needed to be a scene in the movie. But it wasn't, thank you for gifting us with it!

...thank you for gifting us with it!

Hee! Not at all, dear - thank *you* for all your help, and for getting the ball rolling with this in the first place. I needed a bit of a nudge to start writing again, and your lovely fill provided the perfect excuse ;)

*hugs*

So thanks again for the kind words, and I'm so very glad to know that you enjoyed it. <3

But yes, poor Watson... he's had a rather difficult time of it, hasn't he?

*pets him*
