I think I have a new phobia. I don't mean new to me, I mean new to the world. Can I name it if I discovered it?

Anyway, it's the fear of sounding insincere on the internet especially when you're being nice.

Plus whenever I want to be serious I have to make a joke along with the serious because I'm afraid of being serious which is probably ( Read more... )

I think that phobia is a real thing in the world. It's why emoticons were invented, except of course they just make things worse.

Emotions can often be hard to read on the internet, so I can see why you have that phobia.

I have this fear of inadvertently annoying people, to the point where they no longer talk to me. (This has actually happened more than once, which makes the phobia all the worse.) :/

Inner dialogues can definitely eff you up. If I spend too much time alone, I get very anxious, fidgety and depressed.

Sometimes I think being "normal" (whatever that is) is overrated, and other times I think "Why can't I have an easier time in social situations?" (Occasionally I'll be at a party or whatever and feel like I'm the only one with that problem.)

If I know myself at all, I know one thing -- my interpretation of normal would end up being very much like Norm McDonald's Burt Reynolds impersonation.
