If there are any of you out there who haven't yet discovered "Lady Antebellum", I strongly, strongly suggest you google/iTunes them. Their new song, "American Honey" has been in my head for days (: Well, I don't really have much of a purpose in this blog like I usually have in my other ones...I just wanted to write today. I'm home alone while my ( Read more... )

If you have job skills that's more important than getting a degree in something you can't use in the real world. My Dad has a Ph.D and works as a prison security guard. Yeah.

Music is the most important thing in the world. At least music is what keeps me sane in this world. :)

I might have to give Lady Antebellum a shot. I have mixed feelings about country-pop. ( I enjoy Sugarland. But Taylor Swift's fairy tales and proms BS makes me want to puke to put it nicely.) But LA were really good at the Grammies so that's a good sign.

School is designed to make you a good worker, so that you can make rich and powerful people richer and more powerful.

Don't listen to the people who say you can't get a job without a degree. In this economy, you can't get a job with a degree. However, you can set yourself up for failure by taking out a load of debt to pay for a worthless piece of paper. If you feel like a degree would help you, then get it, but make sure you can afford it.

If I could live my life over again knowing what I know now, I would have quit school after sixth grade and learned to be an electrician.

I would fully support you if you decided to live in a car. If you needed a place to park it, and space to grow a garden, I would give you both those things. Some of the most interesting and intelligent people I have known have been people who have 'opted out.'

You're awesome (: I wish more people thought the way you do. You have such an open mind, and it's refreshing to see that in an adult. No adults get me, but you it seems do. Maybe you're just a young soul :) That's a good thing, trust me. Life's no fun being uptight and boring. I wish I could quit school, but I would be thrown out into the streets. I hate school so much. It's wasting my time. Someday, life's gonna get better, I know. I will make it better (:

How is it going with your girl, if you don't mind me asking? (:

Mike sounds like a smart guy. I know what you guys mean about horses, too. They have such a huge influence and their presence is so much more than just another animal. They seem so intelligent, and they listen ( ... )

Reading how you feel about being a teenager reminds me exactly of how I felt when I was your age.

College wasn't really something I was buying into - especially cause I didn't know what I wanted to do. I ended up going to the local community college in the business program because I got a scholarship there for free and they'd take me last minute. Best decision of my life - I made the best friends and took a few different classes and ended up really loving accounting. AND I'm all interested in entertainment and culture stuff like you are as well.

I guess, point being, is it doesn't really slow down - you just make every attempt to enjoy every day to the fullest and before you know it, everything you're unsure about will end up working itself out and you'll have and exciting challenges to face (right now, I'm worried about saving for an appartment lol)

Well, I see what you're saying....but I disagree with one thing. I think it is entirely possible for things to slow down. I am a really simple girl, and I always have been, so I think that it all depends on the person. I hate rushing things, and I am going to do all that I can to live a happy life at my own pace :) Good luck with that apartment!

College is important! As someone who is a Master's student, I know for sure haha. It seems like I've already made my life about school and then afterwards, teaching in a school.

There are lots of things you can do with your love of culture, there are so many different jobs within that realm that are within your grasp. Sure, focus is necessary, but honing in on one interest doesn't mean the rest have to be excluded.

Both my fiance and I are working to be active in the arts, I'm getting my masters in Classical Voice so I can be an opera singer and a voice teacher, and he's getting his master's of fine arts in Painting. I don't know where you live, but if you are searching for schools, check out San Francisco, it's really rife with culture and there are a quite a few cool schools that have a lot of options.

Being a teen IS weird. I don't think I'd want to do it again. Although people still mistake me for one all the time. :P booooooo

I really agree with that (: I'll take your advice and look into schools like San Francisco as well.
