I wanted to ask you. I was thinking about starting up a website of my own to sell stuff and was wondering if you had any tips on how to start. I am very new to the merchant community and was hoping for some guidence if you can offer any. It seems like your site is doing well.
thank you so much :) i tried to ask people about this at first too...and i didnt get much help! i advertise in lj communities & in bulletins on my myspace, & im going to make a myspace solely for my site which im hoping will help with sales. go to sites you like & ask to swap links with them! word of mouth is the best advertisement...BUT i got really lazy because i got overwhelmed with custom orders & got frustrated when people wouldnt pay & then id be sitting there with their bag having nothing to do with it. haha. ANYWAYSSSSS sorry i give a lot of details when i tell a story. stay motivated, keep crafting so your site stays active & you always have new stuff, & dont get discouraged. good luck! sorry if i wasnt much help!

I was wondering about a shopping cart and paypal! I was on paypal the other day but I couldn't understand what it was trying to tell me. Can you offer any insight on that?
i dont use a shopping cart because i only have one of each item, so i just use a "buy now" button (you can use paypals or design your own). paypal gives you a code and thats what i use to sell each item. you just change the info in the code for each diff item. when someone purchases the item...youll need to remove the paypal code so no one else will try to purchase the item (it wouldnt let them if they tried though; if an items already been sold, then the next person who tries to buy it will get an error). im sorry if this is confusing but i cant think of a diff way to explain it :/
