I watched Oprah this week and there was coverage of this 24 yr old and his dog. He'd rescued an older gentleman and they'd made it to helicopters but they would only lift humans. The dog and the 24 yrold had been together for fourteen years. I was keeping it together until they showed the three survivors, the young man was crying and holding onto his dog. The older man was trying to console him then he turned to Nate (who was the Oprah guy) and said they wouldn't leave without the dog. Nate was close to tears and told them that he would take the dog and make sure it was okay until they could reunite.
I was bawling. Just thinking about is getting me choked up.
